Heavy is the moon that wears the ring

Hey, Reader! Imagine signing up for a cute yoga class and instead showing up to a military boot camp – like the ones they sent the bad kids to on Maury or Dr. Phil. That’s Saturn sitting on your Moon. Twice or thrice in life, you get drafted into cosmic basic training—and trust, the workouts are BRUTAL.

That period when Saturn transits your Moon—called Sade Sati in Jyotish (Hindu astrology)—is when Saturn stops being polite and starts getting real - bringing responsibility and emotional heaviness. It literally means “seven and a half” because that’s how many years the transit takes.

Do you remember the video for Miley Cyrus’ song “Wrecking Ball?” (If not, here’s the link for a refresher 👀.) Now picture that wrecking ball not just swinging near you, but dropping directly on top of you. That’s Sade Sati.

It doesn’t always look dramatic on the outside, but inside it feels like the weight of life is crushing youresponsibilities pile up, grief gets heavier, and even the simplest things can feel like uphill battles. It brings things like loss of loved ones, depression, caretaking responsibilities, health issues, home instability, and more. It’s disorienting AF.

Right now, Saturn’s in Aries. So these are the people feeling the weight most acutely:

  • Aries Moons are deep in it.
  • Pisces Moons are feeling the hangover.
  • Taurus Moons—you’re next.

I’m nearing the end of my second round of this cycle, and I keep thinking how much I wish I’d had a support group at the start. So—I created one.

Welcome to the Sade Sati Society:
🌑 a low-cost, monthly virtual space to talk astrology,
🌑 vent and share what you’re going through,
🌑 and engage in healing practices to help you weather the storm and prepare for life afterward.

If your Moon is in ♓️ Pisces, ♈️ Aries, or ♉️ Taurus, [you can learn more and sign up here →]. I've got sliding scale options for those who need it.

Because when Saturn sits on your Moon, you need people who get it. Let’s get through this together. We start in September.

*And if it's not for you, be a dear and share it with a friend.

Love Is in the Air – and Not Just Because Taylor Swift Said “Yes”

This week, Venus is out here doing the most. On August 29, she hooks up with Vulcanus (one of the TransNeptunian Planets from Uranian Astrology), and the vibes are sweet. Vulcanus magnifies whatever it touches—so when it touches Venus? We’re in awe of love and its power. Art feels artsier. Beauty is more beautiful. Love gets so intense, it veers into obsession thanks to Pluto crashing the party. It’s giving big romance energy with a side of “am I thinking about them too much?”

On August 30, Venus links up with Apollon. That’s the kind of energy that says:
✨ fall in love with someone from another culture,
✨ take a romantic rendezvous overseas,
✨ or, at the very least, look into some K-Beauty products or routines.

Then, Venus herself slid into Leo this week, which means love gets the royal treatment.👑

Think bold, generous, showy affection. Grand gestures. A lioness. Lavishing your lover with the best your money can buy. It’s a “go big or go home” kind of season when it comes to art, decor, and love. (Also a “splurge on cosmetics” kind of week—your girl may or may not have re-upped on fragrances 👀.) Just watch out for the Venus/Pluto undertones: extremes in beauty… and extremes in spending.

And then, cue the whiplash: August 31 brings a Mars–Hades–Ceres combo. That’s a much heavier storyline. We’re talking work around problematic food, violence toward women and mothers, and conversations about food insecurity. It’s not the fluffier side of astrology—but it’s real, and it matters.

🔮 Big Deck Energy: Tarot Card Pull for the Week

Welcome to Big Deck Energy—where I pull a tarot card each week on behalf of our collective to offer insight, reflection, or a much-needed reality check. Think of it as a weekly reset, a moment to pause and take in what’s unfolding. This week, I asked: What kind of love feels worth going big for?

Here's what the Tarot had to say: The Queen of Pentacles

Beautiful. This is that chick—the generous, kind, nurturing type who’s got her life together in a way that makes everybody else want to sit at her table. She’s practical, trustworthy, wise… and she’s got money flowing to her door along with a flock of animals who just know she’s a safe space. (Speaking of which, I literally just peeked outside and saw a deer family congregating by the deck.)

The Queen of Pentacles is the archetypal mother. She pours love into something until it’s strong enough to stand on its own—and then she lets it go.

And no, this isn’t just about birthing tiny humans. What’s your great work? The thing you’ve been quietly nurturing, low-key hoarding, or doubting whether it’s “ready”? Maybe the love you need to go big for is finally sharing that with the world.

Market yo’ sh*t! Do you know how dope you are? Do you know how many people want what you have—but will never get it because you’re too afraid to put it out there? (This feels a lil' personal...😅)

How are you going to get to that Queen of Pentacles level of abundance and security if your people don't know you exist?

Go big for your mother. Go big for your kids. Go big for your personal wealth and security.
