🔦 Exposing the Underbelly: The Most Powerful New Moon of the Year
Published 8 days ago • 2 min read
Girl, me too!
Some new moons plant seeds. This one clears the field with a blowtorch.
This week’s New Moon in Leo isn't about affirmations and vision boarding.
It arrives with force — here to unearth, expose, and annihilate anything false.
Because this isn’t just a new moon. It’s the Sun and Moon in conjunction with Vulcanus — the Transneptunian planet that magnifies whatever it touches. And all of that opposes Pluto.
And when what’s being magnified is Pluto’s darkness?
We get a lunation that pulls the underworld into plain view. The corruption. The secrets. Escándalo. The rot beneath the surface. The mess is comin' up and out, BABY. This is going to be juicy.🍿
Dios mío. 🙀
🔥 Let’s Break It Down
A new moon occurs whenever the Sun and the Moon come together in the sky at the same degree of the zodiacal wheel.
☀️ Sun/Moon Opposite Pluto
Confrontations with control, manipulation, and power
Secrets exposed by the light
Shadow revealed — personal and collective
Ego death moments: public falls, private unravelings
Major evolutions, upheavals, turnarounds.
☀️ Sun/Moon Conjunct Vulcanus
Massive pressure and intensity
“Times when big things happen”
Events that change the landscape — permanently
With the Pluto and Vulcanus influence, that is why I’m calling it the most powerful new moon of the year.
💣 What We’re Already Seeing
The past week has delivered a string of losses — Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Ozzie Osborne. Hulk Hogan.
One of my childhood crushes.
And now, with this lunation, we witness the curtain drop.
But it’s not just about public figures. This moon wants to strip all of us down — past the performance, beyond the polish — and ask:
What have you been hiding? What are you afraid people will see? And what still has a hold on you that needs to die?
🗳️ Zooming Out: Mundane Implications
The New Moon chart for Washington, DC adds another layer.
Transpluto — a point associated with loss of power and withdrawal — sits near the Midheaven, just like it did in the Scorpio New Moon chart before the 2024 U.S. election. Back then, I said, “this looks like a loss of power in DC,” and shortly afterward, the Democratic Party lost the presidency.
Now, Transpluto is also squaring the Uranus/Admetos midpoint — a combination associated with sudden endings, breakdowns, or literal death.
What will be lost this time? I won't say. But the chart suggests something significant is on its way out — and we’d be wise to pay attention.
🧭 What All This Means For You
Most new moons are for beginnings. This one says: Clear the damn field first. Start by burning away what’s in the way.
Look at your chart: Where do 2° Leo and Aquarius fall? That’s the axis of confrontation, power, and pressure.
This lunation calls you to:
Annihilate the dead weight
Reveal what’s been hidden
Break the false self wide open
Take back your power
Expose the hard truths
It’s not about chaos for chaos’ sake. It’s about making space for the real you — the one who doesn’t need a mask, a script, or approval.
This is your invitation to get honest. To torch the illusion. To face the underbelly — and rise from it stronger than before. p.s. I'm sacrificing Big Deck Energy this week, but it'll be back in a future newsletter.
